Working with vintage jewellery materials is always fascinating, but I get to do it quite rarely. I’m really picky when it comes to materials and too busy (=lazy) to go around hunting for treasures from flea markets and antique fairs often enough. When I do find materials that I like, I usually fall in love with them so much that eventually it’s hard to let the finished project go. However, since I kept Agatha to myself, I decided that I must bring myself to part with Irene. And so I have.

Detail from the cover of some vintage sheet music from 1926 that I got from Stockholm in November. Love that fearce look!

These earrings have been my favourite vintage project in a while now. The beautiful drops are exactly the type of things I love to work with and I’m really happy with the way the earrings came out in the end. I replaced the original faux pearls that were totally worn and just about to fall off with deep burgundy (not too shiny!) swarovski crystals and wire-wrapped some faceted black agate beads to add a bit of length and dangliness. Sigh…

Pöyristyttävän kauniit! kuten nuo Mata Haritkin alla…

  2. Voi kiitos, Merja! Nämä kyllä kolahti itsellekin todella vahvasti. Pian tulee lisääkin vintage-herkkuja.
