I’ve been a bad blogger. Sorry dear ones!
As of late I’ve either been too busy or just haven’t had the inspiration for posting. I’ve been making quite a few new jewellery pieces though and feeling really good about the way they’ve turned out. Last week I had a most cheerful visit from three lovely girls who came by just to see my jewellery. They gave me a huge confidence boost, each ending up wanting to purchase some of my creations. :)!!! Anu aka Villakettu was also incredibly sweet as to mention on her blog the necklace she bought.
In July I bought a pair of vintage earrings at an antiques fair in my hometown Joensuu. I immediately decided to turn them into two necklaces but didn’t get round to it until later in the Autumn. The name Strange Fruit is of course the name of a Billie Holiday song, but it felt fitting as the two apples on the tree-shaped pendants are mystic looking black onyxes.
I made a light and a dark version of the necklace, in aqua and in black. Very simple jewellery in a way, but I didn’t want to steal the attention off the delicate tree pendants. And I must say again that I LOVE the vintage look of those czech glass beads. I also have to admit that I found it a little hard to let these two go. They are both in new homes now. (Luckily the black one went to my sister, so I’ll get to borrow it sometime…)
Here’s a few more pictures of my latest pieces. Amethyst, malachite and black stones have been huge favourites lately.
And apple trees bring us to the fact that I’m too nervous to write anything else. I must go to bed. Because tomorrow (today actually…) we’re off to New York!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ten blissful days in The Big Apple. Next post will be very inspired, that’s a promise!
P.S. For Finnish readers: Saakutan Blogilista tekee tänne haamupäivityksiä jatkuvalla syötöllä. Minulla ei yksinkertaisesti ole ollut aikaa eikä kärsivällisyyttä selvitellä asiaa. Pahoittelen syvästi! Nyt en joka tapauksessa päivitä seuraavaan pariin viikkoon.
