Fine van Brooklin jewellery has returned to the mothership! In other words, after six moves in eleven years (!), my atelier has found a new home in the same building where it all began beside my kitchen table.
Back in May I received news that I would have to let go of my atelier of almost four years in Katajanokka and that our lovely community there would sadly be breaking in the process. However, on the very same day I found out that a tenant was being searched for the cutest little studio space downstairs from where I live in Kruununhaka. It took me two seconds to shout "I'll take it!"
I can only say that for once in my life, things went smoothly. At the end of July I spent a week sorting out my stuff and packing (and sweating, of course there was a heatwawe then :D) in my Katajanokka jewellery cellar after which one day, with the help of my precious friends we carried everything into a van and off we went!
Now a little over a month later, everything is starting to be in its right place (yes, I like that song) and I've had my un-official opening night on Helsinki's Night of the Arts in August. It was beautiful to see the atelier buzzing with visitors and the feedback I received was so heartwarming, thank you!
The new address on Vironkatu 12D (corner of Snellmaninkatu and Vironkatu, just two blocks from Senate Square) is delightfully easy to both find and access. The atelier is located in the inner courtyard of the building but you can enter by just pressing the buzzer at the front door and then step in from street level, I love it!
I've now decided to try out some regular, weekly opening hours to make visiting me even easier, so I'll be having "open atelier" on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 6pm (13-18). Naturally you can still message me to set a private appointment absolutely any time and please, never hesitate to contact me! However on Wed-Thu no appointment is needed. Regular opening hours are also easy to share to anyone who should ask.
So, hoping to see you soon at Vironkatu 12 D! When the atelier is open, you'll find a sign on the pavement next to the entrance, so you can't be mistaken from the correct door. Just press the buzzer that says "Studio D40" and you're gooooood! Looking forward to seeing you there!
