Matisse earrings

Blue is the colour in BLU collection and here we have it in double!

The perfect, smooth vintage ceramic glass drops in soft robin's egg blue are here paired with deep navy, clearly handmade and slightly "shaggy" glass beads that were salvaged from an approximately 1930s broken necklace. A sturdy vintage brass chain goes through the beads, creating a roughly diamond-type shape. Hooks are gold plated surgical steel. 

Full length of the earrings is approx. 7,5cm. As there is quite a bit of glass here, they are not light as a feather but still very comfortable to wear! A bit of weight brings a certain extra oomph and balance but no discomfort at all. For size reference, the navy beads are approx. 6-7mm in diameter and the drop beads approx. 2,5cm long.

Something different, for a change, yes. For any lover of blue tones this combo is nothing but alluring and a nod towards Cote d'Azur artists can't be ignored either.
