Timeless necklace

In June 2024 I made lovely finds at an antique market in Venice. Timeless is the small series created with those materials.

This necklace features an antique/vintage metal link from a set I found that would originally be used for rosary necklaces. When I cleaned and polished them, a lovely, delicate profile of a woman was revealed, I suspect it must be of Virgin Mary.

My vision for Timeless was clear from the start, I wanted to add no other colour than pure, gently glowing white mother of pearl, it seemed just perfect to complement the look. 

The beads are wrapped with silver wire, little rings and clasp are also silver. The chain is previously unused vintage steel chain that looks delicate but is nothing of the sort but extremely durable and drapes beautifully.

Length of necklae 50cm, length of pendant part 6cm and width max. 15mm. Comfortable to wear, one of a kind treasure. Unique piece.

Please let me know if you wish the length of the scain altered, I can shorten or lengthen it on request. I have imagined the fit of this necklace as resting on the decolté.

I am personally not religious but I have always found rosaries very beautiful and I like the meditative aspect of how they have been used for centuries. I wanted to treat these little Italian rosary links with respect and create an hommage to the universal symbolism of Mary. The motherhood, the purity and kindness, the peacefulness of her presence.
