Original, unique cyanotype print of a photo that I have taken from a vintage 1926 German fashion magazine "Elegante Welt".
Pictured in the photo, modeling a stunning headdress is Leila Bederkhan (1903 Constantinople -1986 Paris), a Kurdish dancer who was a very famous artist on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1920s and 1930s. Here she looks to me like someone stepped out of a dream. The very deep blue cyanotype then takes the picture out of its original context to a calm, almost ghostly and otherworldly existence.
The paper is 100% cotton aquarelle paper. Full size: 20cm x 15,5cm
Display as is or frame according to your own style and taste.
Signed "Lea Kähkönen 2024" on the back of the print.
Print is packaged in a clear cellophane pouch for protection and posted in a sturdy cardboard envelope.
