Cyanotype "Marcella"

Original, unique cyanotype print of a photo that I have taken from a vintage 1926 German fashion magazine "Elegante Welt".

This picture is from a fashion feature with Italian actress Marcella Albani (1899-1959) modeling. Her ease in front of the camera is evident, she seems almost nonchalant and as if she is thinking about something that only she knows about. The blueprint then takes the picture out of its original context to an almost ghostly, otherworldly existence.

After exposure, this print has also been further toned with tea, thus creating the special colour tone with hues of worn denim and a hint of something perhaps even rosy.

The paper is 100% cotton aquarelle paper. Full size: 19cm x 14cm.

Signed "Lea Kähkönen 2024" on the back of the print.

Print is packaged in a clear cellophane pouch for protection and posted in a sturdy cardboard envelope.
